Upon arrival at Axum Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, begin exploring Axum’s archaeological area, including the famous stelae field and the Great Stele. Continue through ancient ruins and historic remains that reveal the importance of Axum as one of Africa’s great ancient civilizations. End the day with a traditional Ethiopian dinner. Lunch and dinner are included, with overnight accommodation in Axum.
After breakfast, visit the Church of St. Mary of Zion and explore its historic religious compound. Continue to archaeological sites in and around Axum before driving to Yeha, one of Ethiopia’s oldest known settlements. At Yeha, explore the ancient temple and surrounding remains, which reflect the region’s deep historical roots. Return to Axum in the evening and enjoy a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included, with overnight accommodation in Axum
Following breakfast, visit Axum’s royal tombs and additional archaeological sites. You will also have time to explore a local market and shop for souvenirs before transferring to Axum Airport for departure. Breakfast is included.
