Birding Tours – “An Ornithologist’s Paradise
Your Simien Mountains adventure begins with pick-up in Gondar and a scenic drive toward Simien Mountains National Park. Along the route, enjoy views of rural Ethiopian highlands before entering the park. Stop at spectacular viewpoints overlooking cliffs, valleys, and escarpments, and look for Gelada monkeys in the open grasslands. You may also visit local highland communities before arriving at your mountain lodge or camp for the evening. Lunch and dinner are included, and you will spend the night in the Simien Mountains.
After breakfast, set out on a full-day guided trek through the dramatic landscapes of Simien Mountains National Park. Walk across highland plateaus, deep valleys, cliff edges, and scenic mountain trails while observing native wildlife and birds. There will be opportunities to encounter Gelada monkeys and stop for photography at some of the park’s most striking viewpoints. Return to your lodge or camp in the late afternoon for dinner and relaxation. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included, with overnight accommodation in the Simien Mountains.

After breakfast, enjoy a final short walk and wildlife-viewing opportunity before departing the park. Drive back to Gondar through the scenic Ethiopian countryside, where you will be transferred to your hotel, airport, or onward destination. Breakfast is included.
